Q&A guide

Headaches while fasting or eating low-carb?

Some people notice headaches when they start fasting or cut carbs. Hydration is one everyday habit worth checking; your provider can help with the rest.

Aftervera Ease and Daily stick packs

Why do people ask about this?

Fasting and low-carb eating change what and when you eat and drink, and some people report headaches in the first days. Headaches have many possible causes, so this guide only covers the hydration habits around them.

Am I drinking enough?

When meals get smaller or less frequent, you may take in less water from food and drinks. Keeping a bottle nearby and sipping through the day is a simple habit to check first.

What about electrolytes?

Sodium and potassium are minerals your body uses to help maintain fluid balance.* Some people add a sugar-free electrolyte mix to their water during low-carb eating or in their eating window. If you watch your sodium intake, ask your provider first.

Does Aftervera break a fast?

Aftervera has 0 g sugar and about 5–10 calories per stick (draft values pending manufacturer formulation and testing). That may not fit a strict zero-calorie fast. See Electrolytes and fasting and our sugar-free electrolyte drink mix page.

When should I call my provider?

If headaches are severe, sudden, keep coming back, or come with other symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.

Two sugar-free stick packs, made for everyday hydration: Ease, Lemon Ginger and Daily, Wild Berry.
